There are three public launch points close by that we recommend for kayaks and paddleboards.

>>> Clermont Boat House – 1050 Victory Way, Clermont

This is the closest and largest launch with plenty of parking. The launch dock is large and easy to use. You may see rowing teams coming and going here, but rest assured this spot is open to the public so go do your thang.

>>> Waterfront Park – 330 3rd St, Clermont

This is the local beachfront on Lake Minneola. With the expansive sandy beach, picnic areas, and restrooms close by, we love spending the day here coming and going for a paddle. It’s the most active part of the lake. Instead of a dock, you simply push off from the beach shore. Just be careful not to drag paddleboard fins in the sand.

>>> Lake Hiawatha Preserve – 450 12th St, Clermont

Park in the preserve and walk across the roundabout to the dock where you can easily drop in and go. This is great for exploring parts of the lake that often feature wildlife and quieter waters.

>>> Palatlakaha River Park – 12325 Hull R., Clermont

This one is perfect for nature lovers. A beautiful windy marshy river where wildlife abounds. It’s more likely to see gators here which means this is better for kayaks or very confident paddleboarders as swimming is not recommended.

Note: Gators will leave you alone on a SUP and kayak and do not hang out in the middle of the lake. However, it is not recommended to launch at any marshy part of the lake or in the reeds. Use the launch docks or public beach/swimming areas.

The color comes from the breaking down of organic material like leaves, bark, and roots and is part of a natural process thanks to the many native trees we have growing around our lakes.

Rest assured, Lake Minneola is considered one of Florida’s “pristine” waterways.
